About The Role

At Coherent, we're advancing the future of photonics and semiconductor technology. We are now looking for a driven engineer with a passion for data, process optimization, and manufacturing excellence to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in improving product yield, solving complex technical challenges, and supporting the transition of innovative products from development into volume production.

What you'll do

As a Product Engineer, you will work cross-functionally with design, fabrication, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure robust and efficient production processes.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Analyzing manufacturing and yield data to identify trends, optimize performance, and solve production challenges
  • Driving root cause investigations and implementing corrective actions for yield and reliability issues
  • Monitoring production metrics and process stability using statistical methods and data-driven approaches
  • Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) activities by validating manufacturing processes and workflows
  • Developing and maintaining process documentation and product specifications
  • Collaborating with quality and reliability teams to ensure customer requirements are met
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, yield, and product quality
  • Responding to technical customer questions and supporting manufacturing-related investigations when required

Who you are

You enjoy combining technical expertise with analytical thinking and are motivated by solving complex manufacturing challenges. You thrive in collaborative environments and can communicate effectively across different functions and disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Physics, Nanotechnology, Electronics, Integrated Circuits, Materials Science, or a related engineering field
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar engineering role within a high-tech manufacturing environment
  • Strong experience working with data analysis and statistical methods
  • Experience using Python for engineering or manufacturing applications
  • Experience with Power BI, Grafana, or similar visualization tools
  • Hands-on experience with statistical software such as JMP, Minitab, or equivalent

Meritorious experience

Experience in one or more of the following areas is considered a strong advantage

  • Semiconductor manufacturing or integrated photonics
  • Machine Learning applications in manufacturing or engineering
  • SQL and database querying
  • Statistical process control and advanced data analytics
  • Lean Six Sigma certification, preferably Black Belt
  • Yield engineering, process integration, or advanced manufacturing environments
