About Pilot Company
In 1958, Jim Haslam founded Pilot Company with a mission to support his family and meet the needs of travelers. Starting as a single gas station in Gate City, Virginia, the company quickly expanded, reaching 12 locations by 1965. Pilot opened its first convenience store in 1976 followed by its first full-service travel center in Corbin, Kentucky in 1981.
