Sous Chef

Lead the kitchen at one of Perth’s iconic riverside venues!

Located on the banks of the Swan River in Applecross, Raffles Hotel is a Perth icon with a reputation for great food, lively service and an unbeatable waterfront setting.

We’re looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join the kitchen leadership team and help drive the day-to-day operation of this busy venue.

Raffles delivers a diverse food offering, combining modern pub classics with Italian influence, premium cuts from the charcoal oven, house-made pizzas and a strong functions and events operation.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Head Chef, you’ll play a key role in leading the kitchen team and ensuring every service runs smoothly.

You’ll be responsible for

• Supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day kitchen operation
• Leading and motivating the kitchen team during busy services
• Maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation and consistency
• Ensuring kitchen procedures, food safety and hygiene standards are maintained
• Assisting with ordering, stock control and minimising food wastage
• Supporting menu execution across pub dining, functions and events
• Training and developing junior chefs and kitchen team members
• Helping create a positive, organised and high-performing kitchen culture

About You

We’re looking for a confident and hands-on Sous Chef who thrives in a busy pub environment and enjoys leading a team.

You’ll ideally have

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or experienced CDP ready to step up
• Strong commercial kitchen experience
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• The ability to remain calm and organised during busy services
• A strong understanding of food safety and kitchen compliance
• A genuine passion for quality food and hospitality
• The ability to work collaboratively with the Head Chef and wider venue team
