Our WSP Building Structures group are a specialist team renowned for their innovation in structural engineering and cutting-edge BIM project execution across high-rise and complex building structures and infrastructure projects, with offices in every major city across Australia.

What you’ll do

  • Project lead work across the design, delivery and tender phases for multi-year/packaged work for turnkey projects;
  • Ensure timely and quality of delivery for project and structural engineering work in support of relevant technical, commercial and regulatory standards – and in alignment with schedules and budgets;
  • Manage project scope, programme, budgets, and quality outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships and identify new opportunities.
  • Handle ongoing communication and highly effective professional relationships with local clients;
  • Manage effective stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally;
  • Provide sound technical/delivery guidance for the team;
  • Mentor, train and develop the careers of junior engineers;
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and a collaborative, national team in a multidisciplinary engineering setting.

About You

  • Bachelor to Masters’ level degree (Civil/Structural Engineering);
  • RPEQ qualified or close to completion
  • Minimum 8-12 years post graduate industry experience
  • Commercial experience in Australia or New Zealand on medium/large building structure engineering projects is essential.
  • Exposure across a range of local building sectors, e.g., transport, metro, health, data centres, retail, defence;
  • Familiar with ETABS, RAM Concept and Microstran
  • Solid consultancy experience in a client facing role with ability to lead projects and manage clients
  • Strong track record of effective cross-discipline project delivery and manage project teams
  • Experience coaching & mentoring junior engineers across technical and project delivery aspects.
  • Connected within the Sydney transport & metro market, with established industry relationships highly regarded
  • Ability to obtain Australian Defence Force security clearance (Aus Citizenship required) would be preferred but not essential
