About The Role

ERM is seeking a motivated Managing Consultant with strong expertise in Occupational Health & Safety and Safety Risk Management (experience in construction safety would be considered as an advantage), and a passion for sustainability, to join our growing team based in France.

The role will be based in Paris/Lyon but we offer flexible working arrangements.

ERM has a strong network of EHS experts who come together globally to innovate our service offering for clients on a regular basis through our internal technical communities.

Our clients operate in sectors with complex regulatory environments and significant operational risks, requiring practical and risk-based solutions. Our team supports clients across energy, technology, manufacturing, chemicals, mining and multinational corporate sectors, delivering services such as EHS strategy, safety risk management, compliance management, EHS due diligence, operational risk assessments, management systems development and implementation, and EHS audit programmes. While safety culture is an important component of our work, we are increasingly supporting clients in identifying, assessing and controlling critical operational risks and strengthening their health and safety management performance.

Role Responsibilities

  • Planning, implementation and evaluation of training and workshops in the areas of occupational safety and health protection for our customers
  • Conducting on-site, risk-based assessments to identify critical operational health and safety risks and provide technical expertise and practical improvement solutions in areas such as machine safety, hazardous energy control (LOTO), ATEX, work at height, confined space entry, contractor management, permit-to-work systems ...
  • Identifying risks, conducting risk assessments and supporting the development of preventive measures to minimize accidents and environmental impacts.
  • Advice and support for our clients in the implementation of standards and legal regulations in the area of ​​occupational safety and health protection.
  • Supporting clients in the identification, assessment and management of critical operational risks and in the development of risk reduction strategies aligned with industry best practices.
  • Regularly review and update security policies and procedures to ensure they comply with current best practices and legal requirements.
  • Contributing to the development of client relationships, identifying opportunities to support existing and new clients, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across ERM.
  • Travel regularly to our domestic customers.

About you

  • Completed studies or comparable training with a focus onoccupational safety, health, environmental protection or sustainability.
  • Proven experience as an H&S expert with in-depth knowledge of legal regulations and industry standards in the areas of occupational safety and environmental protection.
  • Experience in conducting training and workshops as well as implementing safety cultures in companies.
  • Strong technical expertise in operational health and safety, including machine safety, hazardous energy control (LOTO), ATEX, work at height, confined spaces, contractor safety and permit-to-work systems.
  • Analytical thinking and the ability to identify complex problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Experience in construction site H&S management and oversight would be considered an advantage.
  • Team player with a passion for environmental protection and sustainable business development
  • Excellent written and spoken French and English skills.
