Business Unit Overview

Encompassing all stages of the employment life cycle, P&C seeks to understand the business priorities in order to strengthen the organisation's recruitment, compensation, learning & development, performance, employee engagement and employment law practises.

Role Purpose

The People & Culture Business Partnering Lead is responsible for leading the Business Partnering function across Superloop Sri Lanka, ensuring the successful delivery of people strategies that enable business growth, organizational effectiveness, leadership capability and employee engagement.

Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, the role provides strategic and operational people partnership across designated business portfolios while overseeing the broader Business Partnering team and operating model. The role drives workforce planning, organisational design, talent strategy, employee relations, leadership development, performance excellence and change initiatives to support business outcomes.

The role is a key member of the People & Culture leadership team and contributes to the development and execution of people strategies that build a high-performing, engaged and future-ready workforce.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Business Partnering Leadership
  • Lead and develop the Business Partnering function, ensuring consistent, high-quality people support across all business units.
  • Set standards, priorities and service delivery expectations for Business Partners.
  • Coach, mentor and develop Business Partners and assigned P&C team members.
  • Strengthen stakeholder relationships with functional leaders and leadership teams.
  • Drive a commercially focused, insight-led and data-informed partnering approach.
  1. Strategic People Partnership
  • Partner directly with assigned business leaders to align people strategies with business priorities.
  • Act as a senior advisor on workforce planning, organization design, succession planning and talent management.
  • Support leaders to build high-performing, engaged and inclusive teams.
  • Use people data and workforce insights to identify risks, opportunities and practical action plans.
  • Translate business needs into clear people priorities and measurable outcomes.
  1. Leadership and Capability Development
  • Coach leaders on people management, performance leadership and effective decision-making.
  • Support leadership development interventions that improve people leadership capability.
  • Drive talent review, succession planning and critical role planning processes.
  • Identify capability gaps and partner with relevant stakeholders to deliver targeted development solutions.
  1. Employee Relations and Culture
  • Provide expert guidance on employee relations matters, performance improvement, investigations, grievances and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies and relevant labour requirements.
  • Lead complex employee relations matters and manage organizational risk with confidence and care.
  • Champion Superloop’s culture, values, inclusion and employee experience priorities.
  1. Organizational Effectiveness and Change
  • Lead people elements of organizational change, including restructures, workforce transitions and transformation programs.
  • Support business leaders through growth, change and organizational redesign.
  • Drive initiatives that improve productivity, engagement, role clarity and workforce effectiveness.
  • Apply practical change management approaches to improve adoption and business impact.
  1. People Programs and Projects
  • Lead or contribute to enterprise-wide People & Culture initiatives across leadership development, workforce planning, talent management, employee engagement, performance and reward, inclusion and culture.
  • Ensure successful implementation, adoption and continuous improvement of people initiatives across partnering groups.
  • Represent Sri Lanka business needs in group-level people projects where required.

  • Clear Business Partnering standards, rhythms and service expectations established and sustained.
  • Improved leadership capability and people management effectiveness across supported departments.
  • Robust talent, succession and critical role plans for priority areas.
  • Effective management of employee relations matters and organizational risk.
  • Delivery of annual People & Culture priorities and transformation initiatives.
  • Improved employee engagement, retention and organizational effectiveness outcomes.
  • Practical people insights and reporting used to support better business decisions.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Behavioral Science, Law or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Minimum 5 years operating as a Senior HR Business Partner, Business Partnering Lead or equivalent senior partnering role.
  • Demonstrated experience influencing senior leaders and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of employment law, employee relations and people risk management.
  • Experience leading organizational change and transformation initiatives.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring or leading HR professionals.

Preferred

  • Telecommunications, technology or services industry experience.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Psychology or related discipline.
  • Experience working in a fast-growing, complex or geographically dispersed business.
