Position Summary

The Kraft Heinz Company is currently seeking a Front/Back Service Operator to work at our food processing facility in Avon, NY. This position is responsible for supporting Lunchables production operations through the handling, staging, verification, and movement of materials while maintaining compliance with safety, quality, food safety, sanitation, and production requirements. The Front/Back Service Operator plays a critical role in ensuring material availability, inventory accuracy, traceability, and efficient production flow.

Basic Purpose

To support Lunchables production by ensuring all incoming and outgoing materials are properly verified, staged, tracked, and supplied to production lines while maintaining safety, quality, food safety, sanitation, and traceability requirements.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions

  • Verify incoming materials using production schedules and Bills of Material (BOM).
  • Ensure material integrity, traceability, and accuracy throughout production operations.
  • Request, retrieve, and stage materials in accordance with QA and GMP requirements.
  • Maintain accurate material usage documentation and verification records.
  • Properly label and inventory return materials.
  • Rotate between Front Service and Back Service assignments as required.
  • Successfully complete required training for classified positions.
  • Communicate quality concerns and material discrepancies.
  • Clear denester jams using proper safety procedures.
  • Support hand packing and palletizing activities as needed.
  • Support break coverage and production operations.
  • Perform basic equipment operation, troubleshooting, startup, and shutdown activities.
  • Load materials and maintain production flow.
  • Maintain housekeeping and organization of the production area.
  • Participate in QRMP audits and assist with corrective action implementation.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Safety Responsibilities

  • Follow all Kraft Heinz safety policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements.
  • Operate equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Maintain certifications for Big Joe/Walkie, Scissor Lift, Fall Protection, and ladder use.
  • Complete required safety inspections and battery changes.
  • Report unsafe conditions, behaviors, or equipment immediately.
  • Support Kraft Heinz's safety-first culture.

Sanitation Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize machinery, equipment, workstations, floors, and drains according to Kraft Heinz Sanitation Program requirements.
  • Disassemble and reassemble equipment for sanitation activities.
  • Conduct post-cleaning inspections of cleaned areas.
  • Safely handle cleaning chemicals and sanitation equipment.
  • Remove products and materials prior to sanitation activities.
  • Dispose of trash and recyclable materials properly.
  • Perform periodic cleaning of production and storage areas.
  • Maintain housekeeping and sanitation standards throughout the shift.

Quality Assurance Responsibilities

  • Ensure all products and materials comply with Kraft Heinz Quality Assurance Programs.
  • Maintain material traceability and documentation accuracy.
  • Complete required records and verification activities.
  • Communicate quality concerns immediately.
  • Support GMP, food safety, QRMP, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in audit readiness and corrective action activities.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing and walking for extended periods up to 12 hours.
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs., including overhead work.
  • Repetitive hand and arm movements.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and reaching.
  • Frequent stair climbing.
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including:
  • Cold temperatures (0°F to 40°F)
  • Warm temperatures (up to 90°F)
  • Loud environments requiring hearing protection
  • Ability to wear required PPE throughout the shift.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required equipment certifications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior manufacturing experience.
  • Prior food manufacturing experience.
  • Material handling experience.
  • Inventory control or warehouse experience.
  • Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments.

Additional Information

  • Applicants must be willing to work any shift, including weekends and holidays.
  • Overtime may be required based on production demands.

Compensation Overview

  • Starting Pay: $21.54/hour
  • Second Shift Differential: $1.25/hour
  • Third Shift Differential: $2.50/hour
