As a Security Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Cybersecurity & Technology Controls team in Corporate Technology , you will be an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you will be responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting for platform applications, thinking beyond routine approaches to solve technical problems.
- Writes secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language and addresses basic code quality issues.
- Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
- Respond to incidents, assist in troubleshooting, and implement fixes to restore platform stability.
- Collaborate with other engineers and teams to enhance platform performance, reliability, and resiliency.
- Actively applies automation to reduce manual toil in the Software Development Life Cycle
- Ensure compliance with security, internal controls, and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
- Hands-on practical experience in application development, testing, and operational stability
- Proficient in coding in one or more modern programming languages (Python, Java/Spring Boot, etc.) and experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a corporate environment
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline
- Basic knowledge of industry-wide technology trends, security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization, and security
- Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
