Position Summary
Responsible for filing, maintaining patient charts, and entering data in computer system.
Education, License & Cert
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Experience: Knowledge of medical and technical terms. Experience in the management of medical records and the use of computers desired.
Essential Functions
- Must have excellent phone skills. Answers phones and directs phone parties accordingly.
- Must have good computer skills. Data entry when requested.
- Responsible for accurately filing/scanning.
- Responsible for sending and tracking all POC’s and physician verbal orders in the computer software. Upload OASIS to QIES.
- Responsible for daily office functions, IE, PO’s, office supplies.
- Responsible as department timekeeper.
- Responsible for activities in the Medical Record room i.e. scanning charts, creating new patient chart. Assuring all proper documentation is in chart at time of final discharge.
- Responsible to verify new physician license and UPIN #.
- Verifies Medicare in dedicated software.
Other Duties
- Other duties as assigned to complete office operations.
