About The Role

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead software development initiatives aligned with the Digital technology roadmap, ensuring quality, efficiency, and timely delivery.
  • Oversee the software engineering team delivering applications and digital solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering and development standards.
  • Establish and enforce Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) practices.
  • Drive Agile delivery practices across engineering teams.
  • Support CI/CD processes, deployment, and release management across assigned projects.
  • Promote DevOps and secure development practices across departments.
  • Lead cloud application development and transformation initiatives.
  • Support solution design reviews and implement approved architectural and technology decisions.
  • Collaborate with Business Partners and Product Owners to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Manage team capacity, performance, and talent development.
  • Ensure software quality through testing and governance.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements where appropriate.
  • Oversee production support, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Manage software engineering vendors, consultants, and external development partners.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE / TRAINING / QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR POSITION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a UGC-recognized equivalent professional qualification.
  • A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
  • 8+ years of experience in Software Engineering.
  • 4+ years of experience in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven experience managing multiple software development teams.
  • Experience in delivering enterprise – grade applications and digital products.
  • Knowledge of Logistics domain and finance systems.
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile, software architecture, Azure Cloud, DevOps, CI/CD, and modern engineering practices.
  • Understanding of APIs, microservices, IaC, containerisation, cybersecurity, OWASP, and PDPA.
  • Strong strategic thinking, stakeholder management, communication, and technology planning skills.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, financial/resource management, and change leadership capabilities.
