Position Overview

The Chief of Staff serves as a strategic and operational partner to the Senior Vice President of Global Sales, helping drive commercial execution across a global organization. This role extends the reach and effectiveness of the SVP by translating strategy into measurable business outcomes, driving accountability across the leadership team, and ensuring the organization remains focused on the highest-impact priorities.

This is not an administrative role. It is a highly visible leadership position requiring exceptional business acumen, commercial judgment, executive presence, and the ability to influence across functions and levels of the organization. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable discussing sales strategy with executives, leading cross-functional initiatives, and ensuring operational excellence across a global commercial organization.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the SVP on commercial strategy, organizational effectiveness, and business priorities
  • Translate strategic initiatives into actionable execution plans with measurable outcomes
  • Anticipate risks, identify opportunities, and proactively recommend solutions
  • Prepare executive briefings, strategic presentations, business reviews, and leadership communications
  • Provide thought partnership on organizational design, sales transformation, and go-to-market strategy
  • Drive execution of global sales priorities and strategic initiatives
  • Monitor key commercial metrics including pipeline health, forecast accuracy, bookings, ARR, expansion, customer retention, and sales productivity
  • Identify execution gaps and partner with sales leaders to improve performance
  • Ensure consistent inspection, accountability, and follow-through across the sales leadership team
  • Support initiatives that improve seller productivity, customer engagement, and operational efficiency
  • Own the operating cadence for leadership staff meetings, pipeline reviews, forecast reviews, Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs), Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), and annual planning
  • Develop executive dashboards and reporting that provide clear visibility into business performance
  • Track strategic priorities, key decisions, and organizational commitments to ensure timely execution
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives that improve execution, efficiency, and business outcomes
  • Continuously improve operating rhythms, decision-making processes, and organizational effectiveness
  • Partner closely with Sales Operations, Revenue Operations, Marketing, Customer Success, Finance, Product, Engineering, Enablement, HR, and other executive leaders
  • Remove organizational friction impacting commercial execution
  • Coordinate enterprise-wide initiatives supporting revenue growth and customer success
  • Foster alignment across global leadership teams operating across multiple regions and time zones
  • Act as an extension of the SVP, representing leadership in meetings and cross-functional discussions when appropriate
  • Coordinate closely with the Executive Assistant to maximize executive effectiveness, ensure seamless execution of priorities, and optimize executive time
  • Support executive communications, leadership alignment, and organizational change initiatives
  • Drive accountability while fostering a culture of trust, collaboration, and high performance

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in enterprise sales, sales operations, revenue operations, strategy, consulting, business operations, or related executive leadership roles
  • Experience supporting senior commercial executives within complex global organizations
  • Strong understanding of enterprise software, SaaS, subscription business models, and global go-to-market organizations
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional strategic initiatives from concept through execution
  • Strong financial, analytical, and operational business acumen
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and executive communication skills
  • Proven ability to influence across organizations without direct authority
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous, and rapidly evolving environments

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $146,000 and $262,570. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
