About The Role

The Senior MES Delivery Lead will work closely with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Automation, IT, Data Backbone teams, and external technology partners to drive MES adoption and support manufacturing transformation initiatives. Responsibilities include process analysis, requirements engineering, workshop facilitation, solution evaluation, architecture collaboration, implementation support, deployment planning, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement activities.

The successful candidate will act as a subject matter expert for MES and digital manufacturing systems, helping to define future-state manufacturing processes, support Smart Factory initiatives, and contribute to the long-term development of SPS's manufacturing technology landscape. As the program evolves, the role is expected to progress toward ownership of MES strategy, deployment activities, and future capability development within the organization.

  • Lead and support MES implementation, deployment, and scaling activities across SPS manufacturing sites globally.
  • Analyse manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for digitalisation, automation, process optimisation, and operational improvements.
  • Gather, define, structure, and maintain business, functional, technical, and architectural requirements for MES and related manufacturing systems.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing use cases, business scenarios, process flows, and solution evaluation criteria.
  • Facilitate workshops with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Planning, Automation, IT, and business stakeholders to capture requirements and align solution designs.
  • Evaluate MES modules and capabilities against business needs, technology architecture, integration requirements, scalability, and long-term sustainability objectives.
  • Contribute to solution architecture design involving MES, ERP, PLM, SCADA, PLC, Historian, APS, and related manufacturing systems.
  • Support integration planning and coordination between enterprise platforms and manufacturing systems to ensure effective information flow across the manufacturing environment.
  • Participate in system testing, validation activities, deployment planning, issue resolution, and implementation support throughout project lifecycles.
  • Collaborate closely with Smart Factory, Data Backbone, Automation, Quality, Engineering, Operations, IT teams, and external technology vendors.
  • Prepare documentation including requirements specifications, process maps, evaluation reports, implementation plans, testing documentation, and deployment materials.
  • Support decision-making processes through technical analysis, solution recommendations, and business case development.
  • Promote best practices in digital manufacturing, Industry 4.0, Smart Factory solutions, and manufacturing system governance.
  • Take ownership of assigned initiatives and drive activities through completion while effectively communicating progress, risks, dependencies, and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of future MES capabilities and support the growth of SPS's digital manufacturing competency.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Systems, Industrial Automation, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), manufacturing systems, industrial digitalisation, Smart Factory initiatives, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or supporting end-to-end MES implementation, deployment, and rollout projects within manufacturing environments.
  • Strong understanding of MES integration with ERP, PLC, SCADA, Historian, APS, PLM, Quality Management Systems, and related manufacturing technologies.
  • Experience conducting manufacturing process mapping, business analysis, requirements gathering, workshop facilitation, and solution evaluation activities.
  • Good understanding of enterprise architecture and manufacturing system architecture principles.
  • Ability to work effectively across Operations, Engineering, Quality, IT, and business stakeholder groups.
  • Experience working within manufacturing environments and a strong understanding of shopfloor operations and production processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Experience with MES platforms such as AVEVA, Critical Manufacturing, Siemens Opcenter, Rockwell FactoryTalk, Proficy, or similar solutions is preferred.
  • Experience supporting global or multi-site manufacturing deployments is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to Industry 4.0, Industrial Data Backbone, Unified Namespace (UNS), MQTT, Industrial Historian platforms, or related technologies is advantageous.
  • Experience within engineer-to-order, project-based, high-mix, batch, continuous, or other complex manufacturing environments is preferred.
  • Demonstrates ownership, leadership, and a proactive approach to driving initiatives, managing stakeholders, and delivering business outcomes.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in international and cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel internationally, including visits to Denmark, Brazil, the UK, and other SPS manufacturing locations as required.
