Research Associate

Job Purpose The Research Analyst is responsible for conducting equity research and developing accurate, credible, and timely investment views on companies, sectors, and industries. The role supports the formulation of reliable investment recommendations and monitors local and global market developments affecting covered companies and industries. The analyst also produces thematic research reports as needed. Key Responsibilities Conduct equity research and valuation of sectors, PSE-listed companies, and prospective listed companies. Analyze regulatory, economic, and financial issues relevant to assigned sectors and companies. Publish research reports, including investment recommendation updates, earnings analyses, and thematic research papers. Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting and analysis. Prepare reports, presentations, charts, graphs, and briefing materials. Perform other duties assigned by the Department Head or Chief Economist. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Volume and quality of research reports produced. Number of sectors and companies covered. Number of presentations and briefings conducted or attended. Accuracy and performance of stock recommendations. Customer feedback on research outputs. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Capital Markets, or a related field. Postgraduate degree preferred. Professional certifications (e.g., CFA, TCP) preferred. Preferably passed CFA Level II. Experience Preferably 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in buy-side or sell-side equity research. Skills Strong research, analytical, writing, and presentation skills. Interest and aptitude for capital markets and finance. Financial modeling experience is an advantage. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications. Knowledge of equity research, listed companies, industries, and economics. Familiarity with industry data sources (e.g., BSP, DOE). Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Key Stakeholders The role collaborates with various bank units, including the Financial Markets Segment, Institutional Banking Segment, Wealth Management Group, Finance Segment, Retail Banking Business, Risk Management Group, Investor & Corporate Relations Group, Digital Banking Group, China Bank Securities Corp., China Bank Capital Corp., clients, regulators, media, and other institutions.
