Register and Data Management team, part of Technical Support – Ship Classification,

Technical Support in Ship Classification provides global support and governance to all DNV regions in the daily operation and survey of vessels. Technical Support has offices in Høvik, Hamburg, Greece, Houston, and Singapore. Together, we cover all technical disciplines relevant to vessels in operation and their needs. With these units strategically located around the world, we are able to provide 24/7 support to our customers through Remote Surveys and the DATE® (Direct Access to Technical Experts) service.

The Register & Data Management team protects and improves critical vessel and classification data used across DNV’s maritime services. We are changing how we work, moving from correcting individual data issues towards preventing them. By combining maritime expertise, data analysis and digital tools, we identify recurring problems, capture expert knowledge and improve data quality at scale.

What would your summer with Register and Data Management look like?

As a summer student based at DNV's headquarters in Høvik, you will

  • work alongside subject matter experts, data analysts and improvement specialists to solve real operational challenges
  • help investigate data quality issues, capture and structure expert knowledge
  • analyze data and turn findings into practical improvements
  • Your work will contribute directly to better data quality and more proactive ways of working in DNV Maritime.

  • Our Høvik office is located in beautiful surroundings by the sea and can offer access to sailboats, kayaks, tennis courts etc. We have more than 30 activity groups for you to join, as well as gym facilities and a kindergarten located on our premises. It is also worth noting that we offer free parking and shuttle buses to and from Skøyen, Lysaker and Sandvika.

Who are we looking for?

  • Students who are comfortable working with data and digital tools. Experience with Power BI, SQL, data analytics or data management tools is an advantage, but not essential.

We are primarily seeking 3rd and 4th year students with relevant Bachelor/Master Program specialization in

  • Computer Science or Information Science
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Cybernetics or Robotics
  • Physics or Mathematics
  • Industrial Economics
  • Data Science or Data Analytics
