Software Engineer (Missions Software)

Join Planet, a leading satellite imaging company, as a Software Engineer focused on Missions Software. In this role, you will be part of a team that builds, maintains, and operates tools that enable spacecraft operators, analysts, and engineers to interact seamlessly with our assets in space. You will tackle a broad array of engineering problems in a dynamic environment and work closely with various teams across Planet to ensure the satellite constellation meets all of the needs to achieve Planet's missions.

• Participer à la construction, à la maintenance et à l'exploitation des outils de contrôle des satellites, en offrant une interface transparente pour les opérateurs de satellites.

• Experience in Python programming
• Ability to clearly communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or similar
• Experience with relational database technologies (e.g., Postgres, MySQL, etc.)
• Proficient Linux skills
• Experience in API design
• 2–3 years of relevant work experience
• Ability to be a self-starter for solving problems in a dynamic environment
• Experience with maintaining peer-reviewed code and continuous integration and deployment workflows and tooling like GitLab CI and Docker or similar
• Experience with automated testing, code review, and documentation
• Knowledge of aerospace concepts
• Experience working in microservice environments
• Experience working with monitoring tools like Datadog, Sentry, or equivalent
• Experience maintaining infrastructure with Ansible or similar (eg. Kubernetes, Terraform)
• Experience building services that leverage cloud-based infrastructure and tooling such as AWS or GCP
