Solutions Engineer (API)

Join SmartBear, the industry leader in API Lifecycle Management. As a Solutions Engineer, you will partner with enterprise organizations to modernize API development and governance. You will lead technical discovery, demonstrations, proof of concepts, and customer workshops, while collaborating with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success as a trusted technical advisor.

• Partner with Sales throughout the technical sales cycle, including discovery, demonstrations, proof of concepts, and evaluations.
• Consult with architects, developers, and engineering leaders on API strategies, and translate complex customer requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success to share customer feedback and develop reusable technical assets.

• Working knowledge of CI/CD, cloud technologies, DevOps, or application integration
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, OpenAPI Specification, API development, and modern software architecture
• Experience delivering demonstrations and proof of concepts for enterprise customers
• A passion for helping customers solve technical challenges while partnering across Sales, Product, and Engineering
• 4+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Technical Consulting, Software Engineering, or another customer-facing technical role
• Strong communication, discovery, and consultative problem-solving skills
