Engineering Manager (Real-Time Analytics)

Join Toast, a leading restaurant technology platform, as an Engineering Manager II. In this role, you will lead a growing engineering team in Dublin, driving the technical direction and strategy for the OLAP platform, which powers real-time reporting and AI-driven products. You will build partnerships with consumer team leads, implement an AI-first approach to team workflow, and create outcome-oriented operating mechanisms. Additionally, you will coach and mentor engineers, helping them grow technically and as leaders. This is a fast-paced environment where experimentation, iteration, and platform stability must coexist.

• This is a role for an engineering leader who combines platform thinking, operational discipline, and strong cross-functional influence. You should be comfortable owning developer experience for internal engineering customers, driving technical strategy and creating clarity in a fast-moving environment
• Solid communication and leadership skills. Comfortable operating across team boundaries and building durable relationships and influence with consumer teams - OLAP touches almost every product area at Toast, and the role is as much cross-team alignment as internal execution
• A process-driven approach to engineering leadership, with experience creating operating mechanisms, metrics, monitoring, and feedback loops that improve outcomes over time
• 3+ years of experience leading high performing engineering teams, with experience of platform teams or teams where internal developers were the primary consumer or end user
• Ability to translate broad strategic goals into clear technical roadmaps and execution plans
• Track record of mentoring engineers and building inclusive, high-ownership teams
• Strong background in data-heavy backend systems
• Deep experience in real-time analytics, search, streaming, or data platform work
