About The Role

Join Axiom, a leading provider of legal talent and services. As the Director of Legal Counsel, you will negotiate agreements, develop customer-centric solutions, and support business operations while ensuring legal compliance. You will report to the General Counsel and work closely with cross-functional teams. This role requires a Juris Doctorate degree, 15+ years of experience, and a strong ability to communicate complex ideas.

  • Negotiate agreements with customers and develop customer-centric solutions to ensure legal compliance.
  • Support business operations by providing direction and counsel regarding compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Anticipate customer needs and influence the development of innovative solutions to address current and future requirements.
  • Juris Doctorate degree (or equivalent) from an ABA accredited law school Licensed in good standing to practice law in at least one State
  • Current member of the bar or able to be admitted to the inhouse counsel bar
  • 15+ years’ experience (10+ prior inhouse counsel experience required)
  • Experience supporting operations outside of the United States
  • Experience negotiating and drafting service agreements, license agreements, subcontracts, marketing agreements, real estate leases, non-disclosure agreements, confidentiality agreements and consulting agreements
  • Works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles
  • Anticipates internal and/or external business challenges
  • Communicates highly complex ideas to multiple organizational levels
  • Develops innovative new concepts, services, technologies or products to address current and future customer requirements
  • Contributes to the development of functional strategy
  • Anticipates customer needs to influence the development of innovative solutions
  • Solves unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully build relationships and work with cross-functional teams. Detail-orientation and ability to balance competing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously under deadline pressure
  • Works effectively across the organization to create broad acceptance for ideas/initiatives
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to deliver in a demanding and entrepreneurial environment in a timely manner
  • Makes decisions within functional, business unit, company or industry guidelines
  • Operates with limited supervision in a complex environment
  • Recommends process, product or service improvements
