Senior Director of Cloud Engineering

Join Crusoe, a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company on a mission to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence. As the Senior Director of Cloud Engineering, you will lead a 60+ person Product Engineering organization, drive the roadmap for Crusoe's customer-facing cloud platform, and set direction for various technical aspects. You will report to the Vice President of Engineering and play a crucial role in responding to major customer escalations and key product decisions.

• Lead and manage a 60+ person Product Engineering organization, driving the roadmap for Crusoe's customer-facing cloud platform and managed services.
• Set technical direction and ensure high standards of reliability, security, and on-call execution for the software layer customers depend on every day.
• Collaborate with Sales and Solutions Engineering to turn customer needs into platform capabilities, and step into major customer escalations and key product decisions when stakes are high.

• Distributed systems and cloud infrastructure are home turf. You can go deep with engineers and make sound calls at platform scale
• Direct, low-ego leadership matters here. People trust you, and you raise standards without adding noise
• In growth-stage settings, you've kept teams moving through ambiguity without letting quality or on-call discipline slip
• You've owned a cloud platform customers pay for - IaaS, PaaS, or managed services - and know what reliability feels like in production
• You're a builder. When the playbook is thin, you create the structure the team needs
• Leading Directors and senior Engineering Managers is familiar ground. You know how to scale through leaders, not just direct reports
• 12+ years in software engineering and 5+ years leading 40-100+ engineer orgs means real scale won't be new to you
• You’re AI tooling fluent and are passionate about the ecosystem, the user experience, and have an interest in pushing the envelope
• Time inside AWS, GCP, Azure, CoreWeave, Lambda Labs, or a similar cloud provider will help you ramp faster
• Past experience scaling an engineering org through rapid growth will translate well here
• You've built products for both developers and enterprises, with a clear eye for user experience
• AI/ML platform work at scale is a useful context for the managed services we build
