Senior Backend Software Engineer (Booking Platform & APIs)

Join ResortPass, a company revolutionizing the travel industry by creating a platform for all hotel offerings beyond overnight stays. As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you will lead the technical work and be the primary hands-on builder for the ResortPass API. You will evolve a production Rails and Postgres booking system, own the API's day-to-day technical roadmap and design decisions, and partner with other teams to ensure successful production launches. This is a high-impact role that will determine how quickly ResortPass can enter new booking channels and categories.

• Lead the technical work and be the primary hands-on builder for the ResortPass API, ensuring multiple distribution partners and an authorized AI agent can complete real bookings through the same versioned API.
• Evolve a production Rails and Postgres booking system used by millions of guests, focusing on keeping prices and inventory correct, preventing overselling, and reconciling systems when they disagree.
• Own the API’s day-to-day technical roadmap and design decisions, writing production code, leading focused designs, guiding migrations, and operating what you build.

• You turn complex business rules into clear boundaries, lifecycle states, contracts, and invariants
• You understand relational modeling, concurrency, consistency, asynchronous workflows, and distributed failures
• You communicate directly, listen well, and improve the work of engineers around you
• Ruby on Rails experience is useful, but not required. Experience with marketplaces, reservations, inventory-constrained commerce, public APIs, or third-party booking systems is also helpful. We care most about your backend judgment, track record, and ability to learn
• You have 6+ years of software engineering experience, or a track record of equivalent impact
• You care about correctness, testing, observability, and safe rollouts
• You have designed transactional systems, built external APIs or integration platforms, and safely evolved data models in production
