About The Role

Join Zerohash, a leading fintech company, as a QA Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for test planning, functional and exploratory testing, and user acceptance testing across the product stack. You will have the opportunity to shape testing practices and quality standards as the team scales. The position offers excellent benefits, including healthcare coverage, flexible PTO, equity ownership, and a learning and development stipend.

  • Test planning, functional and exploratory testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) across the product stack.
  • Design, document, and execute functional and exploratory test cases for API- and SDK-based product flows.
  • Log, triage, and track defects with clear repro steps, severity, and expected-vs-actual detail; follow issues through to resolution.
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence, or equivalent tools, for test planning, tracking, and documentation
  • Clear, detailed written communication: bug reports and test plans that others can act on without back-and-forth
  • Comfortable writing and maintaining automated tests (e.g., Playwright, Selenium) for occasional ad hoc work and automation tech debt
  • Comfortable collaborating across time zones with a distributed engineering team
  • Experience with BDD-style test scenario writing (Gherkin/Cucumber or similar)
  • Working knowledge of SQL for data verification and familiarity with Git-based workflows (GitHub)
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, switching between competing priorities and projects
  • Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language used for test automation (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript or Python)
  • Strong grasp of QA process across all phases of the SDLC: test planning, test data setup, execution, defect management, and release sign-off
  • Strong test case design and exploratory testing instincts; comfortable reading API specs and testing REST/JSON APIs directly (e.g., Postman, cURL)
  • Experience with a test management or UAT tool (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr, or similar)
  • 5+ years of QA or test engineering experience, ideally in fintech, payments, or another regulated, API-driven environment
  • Experience testing financial transaction flows: ledgers, settlement, reconciliation, or payments
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and how automated tests fit into them
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment (sprint planning, backlog grooming)
