• Strong background and 5+ years of experience in building and operating production systems at scale, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and performance
• Knowledge of modern deployment practices, including GitOps workflows and tools such as Argo CD and CI/CD systems like GitLab CI
• Proficiency in container orchestration and hands-on experience designing, operating, and scaling Kubernetes clusters in production environments
• Living in the Netherlands
• Familiarity with incident management processes, using tools like PagerDuty, and are comfortable supporting triaging and resolving production incidents
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform, and comfortable designing reusable and maintainable infrastructure modules
• Deep experience with cloud infrastructure in AWS, including a strong understanding of networking concepts (VPCs, routing, load balancing, DNS), and the ability to design secure and resilient systems. Understanding of cost efficiency and trade-offs between performance, reliability, and cost
• Experience building and operating observability systems, and understanding of metrics, logging, and tracing (experience with Datadog and Sentry is a plus)
• Experience designing and building shared infrastructure or internal platforms used by other engineering teams
• Strong collaborative approach: experience working closely with other engineering teams to co-create solutions, gather feedback, and drive adoption of platform tools and practices
• Product-oriented mindset: ability to prioritise work based on business impact, make pragmatic trade-offs, and focus on delivering value
• Understanding of platform engineering principles, such as enabling teams through self-service, creating “golden paths”, and driving standardisation
