Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Join Spire, a leading satellite-powered data company, as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. In this hands-on role, you will support our internal developer platform built on AWS, focusing on platform engineering, cloud operations, observability, and developer experience. You will collaborate with various teams to improve platform performance, optimize costs, and enhance developer productivity. • Lead analysis of AWS spend across both platform-owned infrastructure and developer team workloads, identifying cost optimization opportunities.
• Support migration of existing workloads onto the newest internal developer platform, investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving platform issues.
• Collaborate with various teams to improve platform reliability, developer productivity, and overall cloud operations.

• Strong experience with AWS and Kubernetes, especially EKS
• Ability to write code or libraries in one or more general-purpose languages to support developer workflows
• Comfortable collaborating frequently with a variety of infrastructure, IT, security and application teams
• Working knowledge of observability tooling and concepts such as metrics, logs, traces, and alerting
• Comfortable troubleshooting distributed systems and production issues
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
• 2–3+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, SRE, DevOps, or a similar role
• Familiarity with GitOps workflows and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with Grafana ecosystem tooling
• Experience with cost optimization in AWS or Kubernetes environments
• Experience with ArgoCD or similar GitOps tools
• Familiarity with policy and admission control tools like Gatekeeper
• Experience with Kubernetes networking or traffic policy tools like Calico
• Experience supporting internal developer platforms or platform product teams
• Certification as an AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Certified CloudOps Engineer is an asset
• Experience with Open-Telemetry or application instrumentation patterns
