
Pharmaceutical Technologist Trainee - Attach and Train Program

About The Role
The Attach & Train Programme is a structured talent development programme designed to build skilled talent for Singapore’s advanced biomedical manufacturing sector through practical, industry-based training that develops the technical skills and capabilities needed to support the industry’s current and future workforce needs. 
As a Pharmaceutical Technologist, your development will take place through a 15-month structured on-the-job training programme within our API Manufacturing team. You will work alongside experienced professionals to support the production of high-quality active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) under rigorous quality and compliance standards, helping to ensure a safe and reliable supply of medicines to patients. 
Due to the nature of the programme and its eligibility requirements, applicants must be Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents. 
What You’ll Do  
- Operational and Technical 
- Execute batch manufacturing instructions with flawless adherence to established procedures and process-critical steps. 
- Independently perform key API processing unit operations (e.g., charging, vessel transfer, filtration, drying, pack-off) with minimal supervision.
- Verify batch recipes and manufacturing documentation, provide input on DCS recipe design, and support digitalization and continuous improvement initiatives to drive manufacturing excellence. 
 
- Safety 
- Maintain a safe working environment in line with EHS policies, participate in the site Emergency Response Team, and contribute to safety risk assessments and process hazard analyses. 
 
- Quality 
- Ensure timely resolution of batch documentation errors and complete all records per GMP/GDP standards, keeping the plant audit-ready at all times. 
- Communicate issues promptly to stakeholders and fulfill ongoing training requirements. 
 
- Schedule 
- Deliver assigned tasks on time, proactively managing complexities to prevent delays, and escalate scheduling risks promptly to the Manufacturing Supervisor.

- The opportunity to grow with AbbVie's only manufacturing site in Asia, located in Singapore, gaining exposure to cGMP manufacturing within Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) operations. 
- Hands-on technical proficiency in key API unit operations — including solid and liquid charging, vessel transfer, filtration, drying and pack-off — while operating DeltaV and POMS/MES systems. 
- Develop a strong foundation in batch documentation, quality/safety compliance (GMP/GDP, PHA) and continuous improvement. 
- Bacherlor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering/Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent technical related degree.  Fresh graduates are welcome to apply. 
- Exposure to DeltaV distributed control systems and MES through internships, projects or prior experience would be an advantage.  
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills. 
- Able to work comfortably in 12-hour rotating shift (Day/Night).
