About The Role

Roles & responsibilities

  • We are recruiting for the Associate position in the Tax-R&D team. Working as an Associate in this team, your responsibilities will include:
  • Support teams of client and KPMG personnel in the execution of project work, monitor and support progress against project milestones to help ensure timely and high-quality delivery of deliverables across a variety of clients within multiple industries in support of the client claiming R&D Tax Credits pursuant to Section 41 of the US Tax Code.
  • Some activities include:
  • Requesting and analyzing client data (information requests, time surveys, vendor surveys, etc.);
  • Working with engagement teams to determine the approach to use for credit calculation;
  • Reviewing and suggesting the follow ups for data discrepancies;
  • Preparing calculation models
  • Preparing Memorandums.
  • Scheduling and Engagement Management activities
  • He/she might will be communicating directly with the client on day-to-day basis.
  • Complete extensive quantitative analyses as dictated by the scope of each project.
  • Organize information/documentation and create work paper files.
  • Job requires substantial theoretical and applied knowledge to undertake constructive thinking in a problem-solving situation.
  • To review compliance to client guidelines and act as liaison between client and team
  • To ensure that work assigned is completed within the stipulated budgeted time.
  • To analyze the feedback provided by client and take cognizance of repetitive errors.
  • To report all missing information/Request for additional information from the client

This role is for you if you have the below

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Accountancy/Finance and/or Master of Accountancy/Finance from an accredited college/university.
  • 0–1 years of Tax-R&D experience (Big 4 preferable)
  • Good Accounting knowledge
  • Knowledge of tax and financial items such as tax returns, trial balances, wage information, general ledgers, and project costing information.
  • Strong proficiency in basic MS applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint, with a general understanding of data analysis techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail - Quality and time conscious
  • Ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative data and draw meaningful insights
