Senior Graphic Designer (Conceptual)
Mons Royale · Wānaka, Otago Region, New Zealand
About The Role
At Mons Royale, we believe action and adventure sports can be a force for good but most of the gear made for these sports is trashing the planet. That’s why we’re on a mission to shift riders from synthetics to natural fibres designing high-performance merino apparel that doesn’t mess up the places we love to play.
Based at our brand home in Wānaka, we are looking for an exceptional, conceptual-first Senior Graphic Designer to help shape our global brand narrative.
This role is designed for a visionary creative who thinks like an Art Director, executes with technical precision, and lives on the edge of outdoor, streetwear, and action sports culture. If you are an ambitious, high-calibre designer ready to step up and step into an Art Direction pathway, this is your launchpad.
Role Purpose
As a senior creative, you will take the reins on seasonal campaign execution, translating brand and product strategy into high-impact creative across all global touch points. Working alongside the Head of Marketing Creative, you will own the development and rollout of seasonal collections, bringing campaigns to life with energy, raw authenticity and distinction across digital, retail, social and print.
What you'll do
- Ideate creative concepts for seasonal launches, global marketing campaigns, and brand initiatives in close partnership with the Head of Marketing Creative.
- Translate campaign strategy into storyboards, mood boards and visual direction decks.
- Bring deep fluency in youth culture, action sports, mountain lifestyle, and contemporary streetwear trends to keep Mons Royale ahead of the curve.
- Own the graphic development of seasonal assets from brief to final delivery, ensuring cohesive visual narratives across all touchpoints.
- Lead design output for trade and retail marketing (workbooks, lookbooks, POS kits, and environmental graphics).
- Create high-converting digital and social assets across web, e-commerce, performance marketing, and email.
- Operate with autonomy, setting project workflows, interpreting briefs, and presenting creative solutions.
- Build scalable visual systems, templates, and maintain brand guidelines for consistency across global markets.
- Lead digital design workflows in Figma alongside the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Own pre-press, print-ready production files, typography standards, and colour accuracy across large-format print and digital assets.
- Present design rationale clearly to internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams (Product, E-Com, Digital, Copy, Film).
- Guide and mentor junior designers, conducting artwork reviews to elevate team output.
Requirements
What you'll bring
- Experience: 4–6+ years of graphic design experience (agency or in-house) with a portfolio that shows you’re ready to step into Art Direction.
