Join Our Dermatology Team

Dermatology & Allergy Specialists of Olympia (DASO) is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join our dermatology team.

For 25 years, DASO has been a trusted part of the Olympia community . As a locally operated private medical practice, we are proud to provide personalized, high-quality dermatology and allergy care while maintaining the close-knit, team-oriented environment that has been an important part of our practice for decades.

We are looking for someone who is dependable, motivated, compassionate, and eager to learn . Previous dermatology experience is a plus, but it is not required. We are happy to provide specialty training to the right candidate and, for qualified candidates who are not currently credentialed, may assist with obtaining a Washington Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential.

What You'll Do

Our Medical Assistants are an essential part of the patient experience and work closely alongside our dermatology providers throughout the day.

Responsibilities include

  • Greeting and rooming patients while providing a welcoming, professional experience
  • Obtaining and documenting patient histories and other required clinical information
  • Obtaining vital signs and measurements as appropriate
  • Preparing patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments
  • Assisting providers with dermatologic examinations and in-office procedures
  • Preparing examination and procedure rooms between patients
  • Cleaning and sanitizing exam rooms and workstations
  • Cleaning and processing medical instruments according to established protocols
  • Assisting with pathology-related documentation and workflow
  • Communicating with providers and other members of the clinical team
  • Scheduling appointments and procedures as needed
  • Completing clinical and administrative tasks necessary to support excellent patient care

Once you have mastered the fundamentals of the position, you will also have the opportunity to cross-train in medical scribing and expand your dermatology knowledge and responsibilities. Candidates with previous scribing experience are encouraged to let us know during the interview process.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program and appropriately credentialed OR a candidate who meets applicable requirements and is willing to complete the necessary training and credentialing process for DASO to apply for an RMA credential on their behalf
  • CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire
  • Previous dermatology experience preferred, but not required
  • Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred
  • Scribing experience preferred, or willingness to learn
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Familiarity with medical terminology or willingness to learn
  • Comfortable using email, electronic documentation, and basic office software
  • Accurate typing and documentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a clinical team

Equipment Operated: Standard medical examination and office equipment.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds of supplies and perform the physical duties associated with a busy outpatient clinical environment, including periods of sitting, standing, and moving throughout the clinic.

Pay: $24.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on experience
