BBA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Co-op to support our continued growth and achievement of our strategic objectives as consultants in Canada’s natural resource and renewable energy industries. As a Mechanical Engineer co-op at BBA, you’ll work alongside industry experts committed to your professional development and gain hands-on experience that accelerates your path toward becoming a Professional Engineer. The selected candidate will be involved in all phases of engineering projects from front end-studies through to field implementation with a focus on detailed engineering. As a developing member of the mechanical engineering team, you will work directly alongside experienced EITs and engineers who are invested in your success, receiving mentorship, technical coaching, and exposure to increasingly complex engineering challenges. In addition to delivering high-quality service and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues and clients, you’ll actively contribute to projects within the mechanical and piping engineering discipline in BC, nationally and internationally as required. Perform detailed engineering based on codes, standards, and industry best practices for projects varying from carbon capture and hydroelectric plants (penstocks, hydromechanical equipment, balance of plant) to heavy industrial plants (process, piping) and mining processing plants (material handling, crusher, conveyors, pumping, piping, equipment selection) Apply engineering principles, analysis methods, and calculation tools to solve real-world mechanical and piping design challenges Present technical information and concepts to members of team. Aid more experienced personnel for the technical aspects of complex tasks Participate in site inspections, condition assessments, and testing Receive mentorship and coaching from intermediate and senior engineers, actively growing knowledge, and supporting the enhancement of skills within the team Collaborate with other co-ops and EITs and multidisciplinary teams.Foster a culture of having fun at work while producing high quality professional work Evolve your career with emerging technologies in the piping design space
