This position may be responsible for ordering and rotating supplies, and for planning, organizing, and facilitating catering functions and/or leading a satellite café location. Supports facility efforts to improve the patient and guest experience.

Job Specifics

Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week)

Shifts: Primarily weekend shifts, working either 5:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. or 11:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., with rotating holiday coverage.

Are you passionate about food, service, and the difference both can make in people’s lives? As a Nutrition Services Shift Coordinator on our Food & Nutrition Services team, you’ll help lead daily operations and support a positive experience for patients, guests, and caregivers through high-quality, nourishing meals and exceptional service.

In this role, you’ll step in to lead the Culinary Services team or service line when other department leadership is not on-site, while also fulfilling the responsibilities of the Nutrition Care Associate role. You’ll help keep operations running smoothly, support team coordination, and contribute to an environment centered on hospitality, healing, and connection.

This role offers the opportunity to build leadership skills while expanding your experience in areas such as supply ordering and rotation, catering coordination, retail or café support, and service excellence. You’ll play an important part in supporting department operations and advancing efforts to improve the patient and guest experience.

Founded in 1910, Holy Rosary Hospital is a comprehensive acute-care hospital in Miles City that serves an 11-county region of eastern Montana. It includes physician clinics, a residential living community, hospice and palliative care services.

Job Function

  • Leads and maintains workflow of assigned area and ensures tasks are completed.
  • Resolves immediate issues such as service recovery, coaching/redirecting caregivers, and rearranging staffing. Escalates to manager as appropriate.
  • Participates in orienting, training, scheduling, coaching, and leading employees as appropriate.
  • Ensures that department standards for quality, sanitation, and safety are met.
  • Communicates issues with the appropriate members of management.
  • Contributes to achievement of consumer satisfaction goals, patient engagement goals.
  • Responsible for implementing, under the direction of the Nutrition Services Manager, best practice, system-level initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification is required by first day of work (required only in the states of Utah and Idaho).
  • ServSafe certification obtained within 90 days of hire date if not current (Note: Caregivers who work only in call centers are exempt from this requirement).
  • Demonstrated ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize safe food handling techniques, in all applications
  • Understands workflow, prioritizes, uses timelines, understands deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service (preferred)
  • Understands modified diets (preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize commercial cooking equipment (preferred)

Physical Requirements

  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
  • Frequent interactions with customers that require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
  • Remain standing for long periods of time to perform work.
  • Tolerate extremes in temperature such as performing work at a grill or in a refrigerator and tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$20.45 - $27.04
