Introduction

An ICI Internship offers a hands-on immersion into the dynamic world of Construction Management. Our interns become integral members of on-site project teams, gaining invaluable experience under the guidance of seasoned professionals. Responsibilities span from coordinating subcontractors and suppliers to document management, including submittals, RFIs, and change orders. Interns also master essential project management skills through daily reporting and capturing project progress. To broaden their understanding of the industry, our interns participate in weekly jobsite tours, exposing them to a diverse range of projects and construction methodologies.

Some of the specific responsibilities of a Project Intern include

  1. Review specifications, addenda and contract documents
  2. Coordinate request and delivery of jobsite equipment and portable facilities
  3. Attend project meetings
  4. Assist in creating meeting minutes and verify receipt by attendees
  5. Work with Project Team to ensure submittal register is created and accurate
  6. Monitor deliveries, phase and code delivery tickets, and submit to office
  7. Coordinate with Project Team for review and processing of shop drawings and submittals
  8. Prepare Requests for Information
  9. Request Manpower from Field Operations Office
  10. Monitor and update the Project Schedule
  11. Maintain MSDS log and track subcontractor compliance
  12. Prepare Daily Work Logs
  13. Ensure subcontractors perform daily clean up
  14. Conduct weekly Safety Checklist Inspections
  15. Conduct Tool Box Talks with Subcontractors
  16. Photograph and submit weekly progress photos in accordance with company policy
  17. Coordinate and schedule testing services per specifications, or as required
  18. Attend mandatory training sessions
  19. Complete Safety Training assignments
  20. Conduct final inspection and assist with pre-project punch list prior to completion
  21. Request information for the Project Closeout Book from the Subcontractors
  22. Schedule Subcontractors to complete punch list items and ensure they are completed within three (3) calendar days
