Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Software Developer , SharePoint Backend helps maintain, extend, and modernize the backend components that support Montrium’s Connect platform. This role focuses on developing application logic, integrations, templates, workflows, and data-driven capabilities that interact with SharePoint through its configuration model, object models, SDKs, web services, and APIs.

As a member of the Development team, you will contribute to the following areas

Develop and modernize backend product capabilities

  • Develop, maintain, and modernize backend product components that interact with SharePoint services, configuration, data structures, and integration interfaces.
  • Configure and extend SharePoint structures, including templates, lists, libraries, metadata, permissions, workflows, and settings that support Connect product features and regulated content processes.
  • Develop and maintain ASPX-based forms and related application components that capture, validate, and present data through SharePoint lists, libraries, workflows, metadata, and backend service interactions.
  • Build and maintain integrations using SharePoint APIs, SDKs, object models, web services, and related Microsoft platform technologies.
  • Translate product requirements, technical designs, and regulated workflow needs into reliable, maintainable, and testable application code.
  • Troubleshoot product and support issues involving API behavior, permissions, configuration, data access, workflow execution, and backend service interactions.
  • Improve the reliability, security, performance, and maintainability of existing backend application features and integration patterns.
  • Participate in release preparation and packaging activities, including validation of configuration changes, preparation of deployment artifacts, release-note documentation, and controlled promotion of backend components across environments.
  • Document configuration patterns, integration points, backend behaviors, and operational procedures that enable repeatable delivery, troubleshooting, and knowledge sharing.

This role is ideal for a developer who enjoys solving product problems close to the backend and integration layers. You will help keep established customer-facing capabilities reliable today while contributing to improved patterns, stronger maintainability, and the gradual evolution of Connect’s technical foundation.

Contribute to a collaborative engineering culture

  • Communicate technical risks, dependencies, trade-offs, and delivery progress clearly.
  • Share knowledge, support team learning, and work with autonomy, accountability, curiosity, and respect for sustainable delivery practices.

You will join a collaborative engineering team that values practical design, shared ownership, and sustainable delivery. If you enjoy improving established systems, learning new technologies, and making thoughtful engineering decisions, this role may be a strong fit.

Required Qualifications
