As an Acceleration Center - Financial Services – General Ledger Accountant- Senior Associate, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the accounting and controllership operations for a leading company in the real estate, mortgage servicing, and lending sector. Within our Managed Services practice, you will execute accounting processes, financial close, and reporting activities in a complex financial services environment. As a Senior Associate, you will leverage your skills to analyze complex problems, mentor others, and maintain professional standards. You will focus on building client relationships and developing a deeper understanding of the business context, navigating increasingly complex situations to grow your personal brand and deepen your technical skills.

In this role at PwC Acceleration Center Mexico, you will lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, oversee loan-level accounting, and support the preparation and analysis of financial statements under U.S. GAAP. You will drive process improvement and automation by utilizing Workday Financials and AI-enabled tools, collaborating cross-functionally with PwC’s onshore teams and client stakeholders. Additionally, you will supervise and develop junior accountants, participate in the design and execution of transition models, and identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Overseeing loan-level accounting and related subledgers for mortgage servicing and lending portfolios
  • Validating timely recognition of servicing revenue, interest income, deferred fees, and amortization for loan portfolios
  • Supporting the preparation and analysis of financial statements under U.S. GAAP, aligning with internal policies and external audit requirements
  • Driving process improvement and automation by leveraging Workday Financials and AI-enabled tools for reconciliation and reporting
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with PwC’s onshore teams and client stakeholders to support controllership and financial operations
  • Supervising and developing junior accountants, providing coaching and quality review of deliverables
  • Participating in the design and execution of transition and steady-state operating models for outsourced finance functions
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities to standardize and streamline accounting workflows within Workday and other systems
  • Supporting transformation initiatives including offshore delivery expansion, control rationalization, and data analytics adoption

What You Must Have

  • At least a Bachelor's degree
  • At least 2 years of experience
  • Oral and written proficiency in English required
