Manufacturing/Process Engineer

About The Role
The Corporate Manufacturing/Process Engineer will support manufacturing operations across multiple facilities, focusing on equipment improvement, process optimization, chronic problem resolution, and capital projects.
This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong mechanical and process knowledge. The engineer will work closely with Operations and Maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability, product quality, throughput, safety, and overall manufacturing performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, troubleshoot, and permanently resolve chronic equipment and process issues.
- Design and implement improvements to existing manufacturing equipment and systems.
- Evaluate and optimize process heating and cooling systems, including steam and water systems.
- Improve bulk material handling and conveying systems, including pneumatic conveying, blowers, and feeding equipment.
- Analyze manufacturing parameters to improve process consistency, cycle time, quality, and throughput.
- Lead structured root-cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Lead capital projects from concept and justification through design, installation, and commissioning.
- Partner with Maintenance and Operations teams to improve equipment reliability and reduce recurring failures.
- Support improvements involving PLCs, controls, sensors, instrumentation, and automation.
- Develop or review equipment drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Ensure equipment modifications and new installations meet applicable engineering and safety requirements.
- Identify opportunities to standardize successful improvements across manufacturing locations.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of manufacturing, mechanical, or process engineering experience preferred.
- Strong hands-on industrial equipment troubleshooting and problem-solving experience.
- Demonstrated experience with industrial heating and cooling systems, including repair, optimization and design.
- Experience with bulk material handling and/or pneumatic conveying systems.
- Proven experience with equipment modifications and capital projects; including budget management and business case preparation.
- Working knowledge of PLCs, controls, and industrial automation preferred.
- CAD experience such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar preferred.
- Strong root-cause analysis and project-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with Operations, Maintenance, vendors, and plant leadership.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to travel occasionally between company manufacturing facilities.
