Your role
As a Testing Engineer, you will be in charge of building the organizational machine that continuously tests, improves, and validates our product. You will be at the intersection of hardware, software, and operations. Your are going to leverage your deep full-stack understanding of robotics systems to greatly impact the performance of our robot fleet. You will push our systems to failure and closely collaborate with engineers across hardware and software to figure out where and how improvements can be made, you will build the processes to run our tests, and you will work closely with the operations team to build testing environments that challenge our systems.
What you'll be doing
- Define the testing processes intended to make edge-case issues surface
- Design the testing rigs and mock-up environments to increase our testing capacity and coverage
- Manage a team of robot operators in charge of running the test jobs you plan
- Build systems to improve the feedback loops between the testing and R&D teams
- Contribute to the engineering solutions of many of the problems you identify across hardware and software
- Plan and oversee release testing, and manage the hardware and software releases of our system
What you should have
- 3+ years building robotics systems in a professional settings across hardware and software, to deeply understand the system you're testing
- Linux fluency such as bash, containers, systemd, networking
- Excellent interpersonal skills, to interface with everyone on the engineering team and manage a team of robot operators
- Excellent organizational skills, to navigate messy environments and a lot of noise
- High agency, to figure out how to make things happen faster than most would expect
These skills are a plus
- Experience with debugging common electrical systems (CAN bus, power distribution, ..)
- Experience with ROS2
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing
- Experience with NVIDIA Jetson
- Experience with CAD modeling (e.g. Onshape)
You will be the first dedicated Testing Engineer at Loki. Your work will be central to the success of our customer deployments and engineering culture.
