About the Role

Our cloud platform, Gentu, powers over 5,000 specialist practices across Australia, supporting more than 22,000 clinicians in their day-to-day work. From patient interactions to payments, our software sits at the heart of real clinical workflows.

We’re part of a global health tech group operating across Australia, the UK, and Europe, and Gentu is the cloud product we’re investing in most heavily.

As a Tech Lead, your role is to elevate the team — not to be the answer to everything. You’ll shape how decisions are made, how software is built, and how we maintain quality at scale.

This is a high-impact role where your work directly affects clinicians and patients every day.

Key responsibilities

• Guide technical decision-making to ensure the right calls are made at the right time
• Improve how the team designs, builds, tests, and delivers software
• Lead the use of agentic AI tools in development workflows
• Partner with Product and Design to align on priorities and solutions
• Maintain system health across performance, reliability, security, and technical debt
• Identify risks early and make them visible before they escalate

About You

• You’re an experienced engineer who naturally lifts the people around you. You’ve played a key technical role in a team before and improved outcomes through your influence.
• You’re comfortable leading without needing to have all the answers, and you focus on enabling better decisions across the team.
• You’re also curious and hands-on with emerging tools, particularly AI, and enjoy experimenting with new ways of building software.

You’ll bring

• Strong experience as a Senior Engineer or Tech Lead
• Technical capability across: (Ruby on Rails, Node.js, TypeScript, React, AWS)
• Ability to contribute across the stack, with depth in at least one area
• Experience improving engineering practices and team performance
• A proactive approach to AI-enabled development
• Strong collaboration skills across Engineering, Product, and Delivery
• A builder mindset — you enjoy creating, experimenting, and learning
• (Bonus) Experience in healthcare or regulated environments
