Join Micron's EDG Automotive SSD Validation organization and help deliver the next generation of automotive storage solutions powering Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), Digital Cockpits, Telematics, Data Logging, and future autonomous driving applications.

Our validation engineers play a critical role in assuring that Automotive SSD products meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance throughout their development lifecycle.

Position Overview

We are looking for a Validation Engineer who is passionate about storage technologies and automotive applications. In this role, you will develop and complete validation strategies for Automotive SSD products, ensuring comprehensive verification of firmware, hardware, and system-level requirements.

You will work closely with firmware, hardware, systems architecture, product engineering, and quality teams to identify product risks early, improve validation effectiveness, and help deliver robust industry-leading storage solutions. You will also bring to bear a growing ecosystem of AI-enabled validation and development tools to accelerate test development, debug, and data analysis activities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain validation methodologies, test suites, and automation frameworks to verify Automotive SSD functionality, performance, reliability, and compliance requirements.
  • Build and complete known-box, grey-box, and system-level validation tests across the product development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with firmware, hardware, architecture, and product engineering teams to translate product requirements into scalable and effective validation coverage.
  • Analyze test results, investigate failures, perform root cause analysis, and drive issue resolution with multi-functional teams.
  • Develop automation tools and test infrastructure using Python and other scripting/programming languages to improve validation efficiency and product quality.
  • Validate SSD behavior under automotive use cases and stress conditions, including performance, power management, error handling, endurance, and reliability scenarios.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives by identifying validation gaps, recommending process enhancements, and continuously improving test methodologies.
  • Apply AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate test development, result analysis, and debug activities.
  • Support product qualification and release readiness activities in accordance with automotive quality expectations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Programming experience in Python and/or C.
  • Understanding of software, firmware, or hardware validation methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-functional and global engineering environment.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development, automation, and validation tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in product validation, verification, qualification, or test development.
  • Strong Python programming skills for automation, data analysis, and test framework development.
  • Knowledge of SSD architecture, NAND flash technology, storage systems, and industry-standard protocols such as NVMe, PCIe, SATA, or UFS.
  • Experience with failure analysis, debugging, and root cause investigations.
  • Familiarity with automotive product development processes and quality standards.
  • Exposure to automotive standards and methodologies such as ASPICE, ISO 26262, Functional Safety, or Automotive Quality Management processes is considered a plus.

The base salary range that Micron estimates it could pay in for this position full-time is

31.000,00 € - 54.000,00 € per year, with B2 CCNL Level.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base pay for new hire salaries of the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
