Category Buyer - Pharmaceutical

€80,000–€85,000 per year | Full-time, permanent | Dublin | Hybrid, with two days working from home

Select Ambition is recruiting for a Category Buyer to manage a pharmaceutical supplier and product portfolio within a confidential pharmacy and healthcare wholesale business. Two positions are available.

This is a commercially focused category role rather than a transactional purchasing position. You will own supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and annual terms, monitor rebate and margin performance, and use commercial data to identify opportunities across the portfolio.

Key responsibilities include

• Managing an assigned prescription-medicines portfolio, potentially including generic, branded or unlicensed medicines.
• Leading day-to-day supplier relationships and commercial negotiations.
• Negotiating pricing, rebates and annual trading terms.
• Monitoring supplier, margin and rebate performance.
• Resolving pricing, availability and product-file issues.
• Turning commercial and operational data into clear recommendations.
• Working with buying, pricing, finance, master-data, operations, sales and commercial-analytics teams.

Essential

• Relevant buying, procurement, category-management or commercial experience.
• Experience owning supplier relationships and negotiating commercial outcomes.
• Confidence working with pricing, margin and performance data.
• Strong Excel capability and the ability to communicate commercially supported recommendations.
• Availability for hybrid working in Dublin.

Preferred

• Approximately three to five years’ relevant experience.
• Experience in pharmacy, pharmaceuticals, healthcare wholesale, prescription medicines or another regulated product category.
• Comparable retail, wholesale, B2C or FMCG buying experience will also be considered.
• €80,000–€85,000 annual salary.
• Permanent position.
• Two home-working days each week.
