Job Description
This job is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, coding solutions, unit testing, and ensuring the solution can be integrated successfully into the overall application/system with clear, robust, and well-tested interfaces. Job expectations include an awareness of development and testing practices in the industry.
Position Summary
The Global Operations Emerging Technology (GOET) organization is seeking a DevOps Software Engineer II to support secure, compliant, and scalable application and AI-enabled delivery. This role combines hands-on DevOps and platform engineering with enterprise enablement, including application and AI workload onboarding, CI/CD automation, deployment support, observability, release coordination, and alignment with governance processes such as change management, vulnerability tracking, and Service Management Transformation (SMT). The engineer will help create reusable, automated delivery patterns that enable teams to move emerging technology from experimentation to governed, production-ready outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements
- Utilizes multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements
- Performs Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) activities
- Contributes to story refinement and definition of requirements
- Participates in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle
- Contributes to existing test suites (integration, regression, performance), analyze test reports, identify any test issues/errors, and triage the underlying cause
- Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas
- AI-ready CI/CD engineering - Design and improve CI/CD processes, reusable pipeline patterns, and delivery tooling for application services, APIs, data pipelines, and containerized AI/ML components
- AI production operations - Partner with AI/ML, data engineering, application, and platform teams on artifact promotion, configuration, deployment reliability, rollback, observability, and human-in-the-loop production workflows
- AI-assisted engineering - Evaluate responsible opportunities to use AI-assisted coding, automated documentation, intelligent incident analysis, and workflow automation to improve engineering productivity and operational quality
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or a related software engineering role
- Hands-on experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines using one or more of the following or equivalent technologies: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, JFrog Artifactory, Ansible, XLR, and Harness CD
- Experience with Jenkins multibranch pipelines, shared libraries, and version control tools such as Git, Bitbucket, and GitHub
- Experience implementing DevSecOps controls using code and container scanning tools such as SonarQube, Checkmarx, Aqua Security, or equivalent
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform preferred, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager
- Experience with on-premises or cloud container orchestration platforms such as OpenShift preferred, Rancher, AKS, EKS, GKE, or Kubernetes
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, and/or PowerShell
- Experience with IT Service Management tools such as Remedy and ServiceNow, including support for the end-to-end change request process
- Ability to troubleshoot across application, pipeline, infrastructure, container, network, and deployment layers
- Strong communication and coordination skills across engineering, security, operations, risk, and business stakeholders
Desired Qualifications
- Experience enabling AI/ML, Generative AI, agentic AI, data engineering, or model-inference workloads through production delivery pipelines
- Familiarity with MLOps or LLMOps concepts such as model and prompt versioning, evaluation gates, artifact lineage, quality monitoring, responsible AI controls, and human-in-the-loop workflows
- Experience with Astronomer Airflow or Apache Airflow for scheduling, deploying, and operating containerized data or AI workflows using approved base images
