Argenta is currently looking to fill the role of Packaging Technologist for our Shawnee, KS site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support development and optimization of primary packaging components (bottles, blister packs, vials, closures, seals) for new and existing products
  • Investigate and resolve packaging-related deviations, complaints, and non-conformances
  • Work with suppliers to specify, evaluate, and qualify packaging materials and components
  • Support packaging validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) in collaboration with Quality and Engineering
  • Contribute to technical assessments for change controls affecting primary packaging
  • Liaise with Manufacturing to troubleshoot line issues related to packaging fit, compatibility, and performance
  • Maintain packaging specifications, drawings, and technical documentation
  • Support container closure integrity testing and stability packaging studies
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., cGMP, USP/EP standards) for packaging materials
  • Create prototype packaging and product displays based on project briefs and brand standards.
  • Run production trials and transport tests to evaluate package strength, shelf-life, and environmental stability.
  • Research eco-friendly materials and methods to reduce waste and lower production costs.
  • Work with internal design, manufacturing, and quality teams, as well as external suppliers.
  • Support technical troubleshooting across the packaging supply chain and production environments.
  • Build strong relationships with strategic packaging suppliers to stay ahead of trends and capabilities.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (packaging science, materials science, mechanical engineering or similar).
  • 5+ years of experience in packaging development and/or engineering
  • Familiarity with cGMP, packaging validation, and change control processes
  • Knowledge of packaging materials, technologies and applications
  • Strong understanding of packaging machinery, materials functionality, and design software.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong ability to collaborate and build cross-functional partnerships
