About The Role
REPORTS TO: Editor-in-Chief (LSA)
JOB SUMMARY
Lifestyle Asia is seeking a dynamic, digitally savvy Editor deeply embedded in Hong Kong’s cultural ecosystem to shape the publication’s voice across digital, social, and experiential formats. Reporting to the Editor-in-Chief, this candidate will actively bridge the gap between creative storytelling and strategic commercial growth—curating high-profile exclusives, driving reader engagement, and collaborating with sales to create bespoke branded content for top-tier global luxury clients. Beyond basic editorial oversight, a truly proactive candidate will demonstrate the foresight to spot rising cultural trends before they break into the mainstream. They must possess a sharp commercial acumen to translate brand briefs into authentic editorial narratives with pitch-to-publish speed across multi-channel distribution (including short-form video and live coverage).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supporting the EIC with brand campaigns and events
- Line-editing, copy-editing, and fact-checking work submitted by junior writers, sub-editors, and freelancers to ensure brand tone, accuracy, and style consistency
- Leading the creation and execution of new IPs and campaigns for the brand
- Creating editorial and branded content for Lifestyle Asia Hong Kong
- Covering brand news and trending stories on luxury lifestyle topics
- Representing Lifestyle Asia Hong Kong at high-profile events including brand launches, press previews, exclusive interviews, etc.
- Constantly generating ideas for new editorial content campaigns and projects, as well as creative ways to cover sponsored content (digital cover, lists, badges etc.)
- Establishing content and marketing partnerships with brand partners
- Collaborating with social media managers or self-producing short-form video content and visual assets for major coverage and events and topics
- Planning and maintaining the monthly/quarterly content pipeline, balancing daily breaking luxury news with evergreen features and major commercial beats (e.g., Watches & Wonders, Art Basel Hong Kong, Michelin guide announcements)
QUALIFICATIONS
- A passion for lifestyle content
- A deep personal standard for storytelling quality—possessing the curiosity to dig beyond press releases to find unique angles.
- Knowledge of lifestyle brands in Hong Kong and on an international level
- Excellent writing and communication skills in English (Cantonese is a plus)
- Ability to write engaging, well-researched, SEO-friendly stories and headlines
- Detail-oriented, resourceful, and can work fast under daily deadlines
- Social media-savvy and always staying on top of trending topics in society
- Professionalism when covering live events and working with agencies
- Experience in working with digital KPIs (engagement, reach)
- Proactive problem-solving
