Job Description Summary
Avio Aero, a GE Aerospace company, is a leading player in the aeronautics sector, specializing in the design, manufacture, and maintenance of components and propulsion systems for civil and military aircraft engines.
In this role you will be responsible for accounting, statutory and group reporting as well as taxes for two Polish GE Aerospace entities: Avio Polska and Polonia Aero. This position is suited for someone who enjoys collaborating with multiple teams in an international environment, has strong technical expertise, understands best practices and recognizes the impact of their area on the performance of the entire organization.
Job Description
Key responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including close cooperation with Shared Service Center (SSC) teams (e.g. accounts payable, cash and payments, intercompany, fixed assets, inventory).
- Supervise tax compliance and reporting, including ongoing cooperation with tax authorities, Group headquarters and external advisors. Act as a people leader for the tax specialist.
- Actively participate in preparing transfer pricing documentation and closely cooperate with Group headquarters and external tax advisors.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of all mandatory reports and financial statements required under Polish regulations.
- Prepare group reporting packages in accordance with IFRS, including reconciliation and postings of differences between statutory books and group reporting (bridge).
- Coordinate and support external and internal audits.
- Actively participate in monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
- Support the process of obtaining and settling government grants.
- Drive continuous improvement of accounting and tax processes as well as internal controls, with a strong focus on achieving full technical harmonization and aligning local processes with Avio Aero and GE Aerospace standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced team members.
Qualifications
- University degree in accounting, finance or a related field; Polish Statutory Auditor title or ACCA qualification would be a strong plus.
- Professional experience gained in finance functions of companies operating in an international environment and/or in Big 4 audit firms.
- Excellent command of Polish and English.
- In-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Polish Accounting Standards (PAS); familiarity with US GAAP would be an advantage.
- Proven experience in preparing statutory financial statements and group reporting packages.
- Solid understanding of tax regulations, including transfer pricing rules.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience in building and maintaining relationships in a complex international environment.
- Ability to set priorities and deliver results within deadlines.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
