About The Role

€60,000 per year | Permanent, full-time | On-site | County Meath

Select Ambition is recruiting a qualified Practice Accountant for a confidential accountancy practice in County Meath. The position combines financial reporting, client portfolio management and team development, with scope to assume increasing leadership responsibility.

You will prepare and review year-end accounts and tax submissions for owner-managed businesses, SMEs and larger sole traders. The work includes Irish GAAP and FRS 102 Section 1A reporting, Companies Act compliance, audit and audit-exempt assignments and the accurate management of several client deadlines.

You will maintain trusted client relationships, discuss wider commercial matters within your professional expertise and identify practical advisory or process-improvement opportunities. The role also involves reviewing delegated work and helping trainees and junior colleagues develop.

This is a long-term, on-site appointment with scope to progress into broader portfolio, team and practice leadership. Applications will be handled in confidence.

Essential

  • Qualified Chartered or Chartered Certified Accountant.
  • Strong post-qualification experience in an Irish or UK accountancy practice.
  • Technical knowledge of Irish GAAP, FRS 102 Section 1A and Companies Act compliance.
  • Experience with audit and audit-exempt clients.
  • Experience managing client work, financial-reporting assignments and deadlines.
  • Strong client-facing communication and professional judgement.
  • Strong organisation, project-management and practice-system skills.
  • Ability to work on-site in County Meath.

Preferred

  • Experience with SME advisory, business consulting or owner-managed businesses.
  • Experience reviewing trainee work or supervising junior colleagues.
  • Familiarity with practical tax planning for small companies.
  • Broad accountancy-practice experience and process-improvement work.
  • €60,000 annual salary.
  • Varied owner-managed, SME and sole-trader portfolio.
  • Increasing responsibility for file review, clients and team development.
  • Longer-term opportunity to progress towards practice leadership or partnership.
