Key Responsibilities – Sales & Marketing Engineer for Glazing Systems

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities for steel and aluminium glazing products within target markets including building contractors, architects, consultants, and façade specialists.
  • Build, maintain, and expand strong client and partner relationships through effective communication and regular engagement.
  • Deliver technical presentations and marketing demonstrations to promote the features, benefits, and applications of glazed façade, window, and door systems.
  • Provide expert guidance to clients on product selection, customised solutions, and specification compliance for commercial and residential projects.
  • Prepare and review competitive sales quotations and tender submissions, collaborating with internal estimation and engineering teams to ensure accuracy and profitability.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market demands to support strategic product positioning and sales campaigns.
  • Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and networking opportunities, raising brand awareness in the field of innovative glazing technology.
  • Contribute to the development of marketing materials, case studies, and digital content to enhance lead generation and client engagement.

Technical Knowledge & Experience – Steel & Aluminium Glazing Solutions

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Architecture, or a related discipline strongly preferred).
  • Proven experience in technical sales, marketing, or engineering roles within the glazing, façade, or architectural metalwork sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of the design, manufacture, and installation of steel and aluminium windows, doors, curtain walls, and specialist glazing products.
  • Familiarity with relevant building codes, structural requirements, and performance testing associated with glazed systems.
  • Proficient in the use of CRM, sales, and reporting tools; ability to analyse project specifications and technical drawings.

Essential Selling & Communication Skills – Building Client Relationships in Construction

  • Demonstrate outstanding interpersonal and networking skills to inspire client confidence and develop long-lasting partnerships.
  • Communicate clearly and persuasively, tailoring messaging to technical and non-technical audiences within the construction supply chain.
  • Negotiate commercial terms with integrity, ensuring alignment with client needs and organisational objectives.
  • Support business development activities by collaborating with cross-functional teams and contributing valuable market insights.

Problem-Solving & Analytical Abilities – Glazing Project Support

  • Take a solution-oriented approach to consultative selling, swiftly addressing customer queries and technical challenges.
  • Analyse project requirements, review technical submittals, and recommend optimised proposals that enhance project value and operational efficiency.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects, prioritising effectively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.

Qualifications & Experience – Steel & Aluminium Glazing Sales and Marketing

  • A recognised engineering or technical degree is essential.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a technical sales or commercial engineering role within the glass, glazing, façade, or building envelope industries.
  • Technical sales experience with steel and/or aluminium building products will be highly advantageous.
  • Valid driving licence and willingness to travel locally and regionally as required.
