Consultant / Specialist Cardiac Anesthesiologist - South African Board

Position Overview

A leading healthcare facility in the UAE is seeking an experienced Consultant / Specialist Cardiac Anesthesiologist with South African Board certification to join its advanced anesthesia and cardiothoracic team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive anesthesia care for adult and pediatric cardiac procedures.
• Conduct pre-operative assessment, risk stratification, and anesthesia planning.
• Manage complex and high-risk cardiac surgical cases.
• Provide perioperative critical care and post-operative management.
• Perform and interpret Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) where appropriately credentialed.
• Manage advanced hemodynamic monitoring and perioperative cardiovascular emergencies.
• Collaborate closely with cardiothoracic surgeons, cardiologists, intensivists, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement, teaching, and departmental development.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with UAE healthcare standards.

Requirements

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
• South African Board certification in Anaesthesiology or an appropriate recognized specialist qualification.
• Fellowship/subspecialty training or significant experience in Cardiac Anesthesia .
• Relevant post-specialization experience in cardiac anesthesia.
• Current professional registration and Good Standing status.
• Eligibility for UAE Consultant or Specialist classification, subject to the applicable PQR requirements and final assessment by the relevant health authority.
• Strong clinical, communication, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
