  • Represents Bacardi in relevant industry associations, helping influence regulatory discussions, protect business interests and safeguard the company’s reputation.

Packaging Regulatory Compliance

  • Lead and coordinate the assessment of packaging regulatory requirements globally, with particular focus on priority markets including the EU, UK, United States and India, ensuring packaging materials, components, specifications, claims and artwork remain compliant with applicable legal and policy requirements.
  • Partner proactively with Packaging Development, Artwork Development, Procurement, Corporate Sustainability, Quality, Operations, Regulatory, Legal and local market teams to provide guidance on packaging compliance topics, review regulatory implications of packaging changes, support compliant execution across innovation and existing product portfolio and support sustainability-related customer requests for packaging data or information.
  • Translate packaging regulatory requirements into practical internal standards, best practice guidance and compliance tools to support consistent implementation across regions and brands.
  • Support packaging-related sustainability reporting requirements by defining, validating and maintaining relevant compliance data, including material composition, recyclability, recycled content and other required packaging attributes.
  • Provide sustainability design guidance to project teams, supporting material choices and sustainable innovation opportunities while balancing compliance, quality, cost, performance and consumer experience.
  • Lead or coordinate the collection of supplier declarations and technical evidence required to demonstrate packaging compliance, traceability and audit readiness.
  • Represent Bacardi, where relevant, in industry associations or external working groups to monitor developments, influence discussion and help define company positions on packaging regulatory topics.

Monitor

  • Define and maintain tools, trackers and processes to monitor upcoming packaging legislation and policy developments globally, with particular focus on priority markets including EU regulations such as PPWR, REACH updates and EPR developments, UK packaging EPR and reporting requirements, United States packaging regulations, particularly California rules and other states increasing focus on EPR, packaging materials and reporting obligations, and relevant packaging regulatory developments in India.
  • Ensure timely assessment of new and revised regulatory requirements, identify business impact and escalate risks where market access, compliance, cost or reputation may be affected.
  • Provide regular updates to the business on packaging regulatory developments, implementation priorities and associated risks or opportunities globally, with emphasis on the EU, UK, United States and India.

Influence

  • Support the development and alignment of Bacardi positions on packaging-related regulatory developments across functions, geographies and external forums.
  • Contribute to internal capability building through training, guidance and communication that strengthens awareness of packaging compliance requirements and embeds good regulatory practice.

PERSONAL QUALITIES

  • Master's Degree in Packaging Engineering, Materials Science, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Regulatory Affairs or a related discipline; an advanced qualification is an advantage.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in packaging regulatory compliance, packaging development, sustainability compliance or a related technical and regulatory environment, ideally within beverage, food, consumer goods or similarly regulated industries.
  • Strong knowledge of packaging legislation and standards, particularly in the EU and UK, including EPR developments, PPWR implementation and REACH-related implications for packaging materials and components, as well as awareness of United States packaging regulations, especially California requirements and other state-level EPR and reporting developments, and relevant packaging regulatory requirements in India.
  • Solid understanding of packaging design, materials and component functionality, technical performance requirements and sustainability trade-offs.
  • Experience in regulatory impact assessment, packaging data management, supplier documentation and technical evidence collection.
  • Excellent written and spoken English. Additional languages such as Spanish or French are an advantage.

OTHER

  • Knowledge of packaging data systems, regulatory databases and tools used to monitor legislation, manage compliance evidence and support packaging reporting is highly desirable.
  • Good understanding of packaging materials, components and supply chains, including glass, plastics, metals, paper-based materials, labels, adhesives, inks and closures.
  • Experience in sustainability reporting, recyclability assessment methods, EPR-related data frameworks and support of customer sustainability data requests would be a strong advantage .
