This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Especialista C++/JAVA based in Brazil.

This is an opportunity to work on an international financial-services project focused on Market Risk <applications.You> will combine Java, C++, and Linux expertise to develop, maintain, and evolve critical financial systems.The role involves investigating complex application issues, calculation discrepancies, and technical <vulnerabilities.You> will contribute to systems involving sensitivities, VaR, and Stress Testing in a highly technical environment.Collaboration with international teams will be part of your day-to-day work, requiring strong communication skills.The position is fully remote initially, with future relocation to Portugal or Spain <required.It> is an excellent fit for an analytical developer who enjoys solving complex problems across development and financial technology.

Accountabilities

  • Develop and enhance applications using Java/J2EE, including solutions based on Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, and CI/CD practices.
  • Investigate, debug, and resolve issues in C++ applications and calculation engines, identifying errors and discrepancies in financial results.
  • Perform targeted C++ development and adjustments while maintaining application quality and stability.
  • Identify and remediate application vulnerabilities, contributing to secure and reliable software environments.
  • Support applications related to Market Risk, including sensitivities, Value at Risk (VaR), and Stress Testing.
  • Work with Linux/Unix environments and Shell scripting to support development, troubleshooting, and application operations.
  • Use Git for version control and collaborate within Agile/Scrum development processes.
  • Apply AI-powered development tools, including Devin, to improve engineering productivity and development workflows.
  • Collaborate closely with international teams throughout application development, maintenance, troubleshooting, and delivery.
  • Analyze complex technical and business problems, balancing software development responsibilities with investigation and production support.

Requirements

  • Professional experience developing with Java and strong professional experience with C/C++.
  • Solid experience with Java/J2EE and modern backend development practices.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Spring Boot, microservices architecture, REST APIs, CI/CD, Git, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Professional experience working with Linux/Unix environments and Unix Shell.
  • Knowledge of Market Risk concepts, particularly sensitivities, VaR (Value at Risk), and Stress Testing.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to diagnose complex application and calculation issues.
  • Ability to move comfortably between Java and C++ development and work across existing and evolving applications.
  • Conversational English and Spanish are mandatory for collaboration with international teams.
  • Availability to relocate to Portugal or Spain in the future is required.
  • Experience in banking, financial institutions, capital markets, risk systems, or financial calculation engines is a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with Devin or other AI-assisted software development tools is considered a plus.
  • Previous experience in international projects is desirable.
