This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Conference Interpreter (I-1/I-2 level) based in Brazil.

This role offers the opportunity to support high-level international conferences and meetings through professional interpretation services.The successful candidate will provide accurate simultaneous and consecutive interpretation across multiple official <languages.You> will work in a multicultural and multilingual environment alongside experienced conference interpreters.Assignments may involve complex, sensitive, or high-level discussions where discretion, precision, and professionalism are essential.The role requires strong concentration and composure while maintaining consistently high standards under <pressure.You> will contribute to effective communication across international stakeholders and help ensure smooth, inclusive participation in global forums.The position is offered through a flexible roster, with assignments ranging from one day to two months.

Accountabilities

  • Provide accurate, clear, and effective simultaneous or consecutive interpretation between two or more official languages during conferences, meetings, and field missions.
  • Apply the working conditions and professional standards applicable to international and United Nations-related meetings and conferences.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team of conference interpreters, supporting smooth and consistent interpretation services throughout assignments.
  • Take the lead within an interpreting team when required, coordinating effectively with colleagues during assignments.
  • Handle sensitive, confidential, or high-level meetings with a high degree of discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment.
  • Maintain concentration, accuracy, and clarity throughout demanding interpretation assignments and under time pressure.
  • Use relevant digital tools, computer hardware, software, and virtual conferencing technologies to support interpretation activities.

Requirements

  • University degree in Interpretation, Translation, Linguistics, Languages, or a related field, or an equivalent diploma from a recognized institution of advanced education.
  • At least 1 year of professional experience in conference, particularly simultaneous, interpretation.
  • Native-level command of at least one of the six official languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish.
  • Ability to interpret accurately from at least two additional official languages.
  • Knowledge of additional official languages is considered an advantage.
  • Proven ability to perform simultaneous interpretation with a high level of concentration, accuracy, and composure under pressure.
  • Strong communication, analytical, judgment, decision-making, planning, organizational, and service-oriented skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within diverse international teams.
  • Strong digital fluency and confidence using computer hardware and software.
  • Experience with remote interpretation platforms is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with video conferencing platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams is desirable.
  • Strong commitment to professional standards, learning and knowledge sharing, results, teamwork, and organizational objectives.
  • High levels of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive or confidential discussions.
