JOB FUNCTION

To maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment at the Mess Hall by performing housekeeping and culinary duties, including preparing and serving nutritious meals for occupants, guests and staff.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• ➢ Maintains general upkeep, cleanliness, orderliness and safety within the Mess Hall.
• ➢ Maintains proper food hygiene, safe storage and cleanliness of kitchen utensils and fixtures.
• ➢ Manages kitchen supplies, monitors stock levels, and reports shortages for replenishment.
• ➢ Reports maintenance issues, including plumbing, lighting and equipment faults to the supervisor.
• ➢ Assists with laundry, waste disposal and general housekeeping tasks.
• ➢ Handle guest complaints and issues in a professional manner to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
• ➢ Assist in the setup for meetings, retreats, and other organized functions as needed.
• ➢ Maintains fire extinguishers, first-aid kits, and emergency exit to ensure they are in good condition.

JOB REQUIREMENT

The right candidate must possess

• ➢ BECE with six (6) passes plus NVTI Certificate I/ NVTI Trade Test Grade I/NCC in Cookery.
• ➢ Minimum of three (3) years relevant experience.

COMPETENCIES

• ➢ Knowledge and skills in Housekeeping.
• ➢ Basic knowledge and skills in food preparation, food safety and hygiene standards.
• ➢ Ability to communicate with customers, to resolve complaints and ensure satisfaction.
• ➢ Ability to provide professional service to guests and staff while observing precautions to protect guests and their property.
• ➢ Must be detail-oriented and able to multitask.
• ➢ Proficient in basic computer skills.
