About The Role
University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Hepatology team in Minneapolis, MN.
In this role, you will
- Coordinate and facilitate the delivery of care to patients with a variety of liver conditions.
- Perform physical examinations and preventive health measures.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' clinical problems and health care needs.
- Recommend treatment and prescribe medication.
- Consult with physicians (as needed) and make appropriate referrals for evaluation or treatment.
- Location: M Health - Fairview Clinic and Surgery Center in Minneapolis.
Schedule
- 1.0 FTE
- Weekdays
Position Qualifications
A qualified candidate will be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and formal Adult, Adult/Gero, Acute Care, or FNP Nurse Practitioner training program or a graduate of an accredited Physician's Assistant program. Have a current MN RN license and be approved or eligible by the Minnesota Board of Nursing for prescription writing privileges or a current PA license with prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice. Be certified through ANCC/AANP or eligible for ANCC/AANP national exam or through the NCCPA and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.
Preferred Qualifications
- A minimum of 1 year experience as an inpatient PA or NP in hepatology. New graduates will be considered.
