About The Role

The Technical Coordinator is responsible for executing projects applicable to management system activities, including task scheduling, inter-department project relationships and interactions, and performing non-department-specific project tasks.

What You Will Do

  • Overall responsibility for coordination of short- and long-term projects
  • Independently develop and maintain live-documents
  • Client consultation and every-day communication with clients
  • Communication with flag administrations.
  • Dispatching of tasks / distributions of work.
  • Fee quotations to clients.
  • Preparation of Service Agreements
  • Transfer of Class coordination
  • Rapid Response Damage Assessment coordination.
  • Other duties as may be directed by the Manager of Certification and/or Operations Manager

What You Will Need

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or recognized equivalent from an accredited university, preferably in a business/technical discipline, or equivalent business/quality-related experience.
  • 2 or more years of experience in the industry is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Considerable attention to detail including a high degree of accuracy in data interpretation and input
  • Advanced skills in the use of Microsoft Applications such as Word, Excel, and Access (Knowledge in P.C. computer-based project management, spreadsheet, database, and graphical presentation programs and, preferably, word processing.)
  • Stays actively informed by attending seminars, and training programs, or originates other educational activities associated with programs or activities of direct responsibility; aims to broaden and deepen the level of knowledge and expertise.
  • Ability to respond to confidential and non-routine telephone inquiries in a business-like manner.
  • Demonstrate ability in decision-making and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, exercises sound judgment and has a sense of diplomacy.
  • Familiarity with commercial, governmental, and international quality standards.
  • Willingness to foster and incorporate change.
  • Ability to develop a working knowledge of ABS Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, and related instructions, as well as the ABS Employee Safety Policy.

Reporting Relationships

Reports directly to the Certification Manager.
