Technical Coordinator

About The Role
The Technical Coordinator is responsible for executing projects applicable to management system activities, including task scheduling, inter-department project relationships and interactions, and performing non-department-specific project tasks.
What You Will Do
- Overall responsibility for coordination of short- and long-term projects
- Independently develop and maintain live-documents
- Client consultation and every-day communication with clients
- Communication with flag administrations.
- Dispatching of tasks / distributions of work.
- Fee quotations to clients.
- Preparation of Service Agreements
- Transfer of Class coordination
- Rapid Response Damage Assessment coordination.
- Other duties as may be directed by the Manager of Certification and/or Operations Manager
What You Will Need
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or recognized equivalent from an accredited university, preferably in a business/technical discipline, or equivalent business/quality-related experience.
- 2 or more years of experience in the industry is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Considerable attention to detail including a high degree of accuracy in data interpretation and input
- Advanced skills in the use of Microsoft Applications such as Word, Excel, and Access (Knowledge in P.C. computer-based project management, spreadsheet, database, and graphical presentation programs and, preferably, word processing.)
- Stays actively informed by attending seminars, and training programs, or originates other educational activities associated with programs or activities of direct responsibility; aims to broaden and deepen the level of knowledge and expertise.
- Ability to respond to confidential and non-routine telephone inquiries in a business-like manner.
- Demonstrate ability in decision-making and organizational skills.
- Demonstrates professionalism, exercises sound judgment and has a sense of diplomacy.
- Familiarity with commercial, governmental, and international quality standards.
- Willingness to foster and incorporate change.
- Ability to develop a working knowledge of ABS Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, and related instructions, as well as the ABS Employee Safety Policy.
Reporting Relationships
Reports directly to the Certification Manager.
